Florida State Seminoles Lose Talented Defensive Back To Transfer Portal
Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports

The Florida State Seminoles are out to prove something in 2024. They want to show they can compete with the best in the nation after being left out of the College Football Playoff last year. As spring practices are in full swing, programs are having to deal with the spring transfer portal. The Seminoles are losing defensive back Greedy Vance Jr.

Florida State Seminoles Lose DB Greedy Vance Jr.

Vance Jr. has been a solid piece for the Seminoles over the past two seasons. In 2022, he had three interceptions, five passes defended, and 16 total tackles. He followed that up in 2023 with an interception, four passes defended, and 18 total tackles. Vance Jr. is likely transferring because he does not want to compete in his last year of eligibility for playing time.

2024 Outlook

The Florida State Seminoles are the heavy favorite in the ACC. Even though they are losing some quality players to the NFL, they have plenty of talent on the roster. The conference isn’t full of powerhouses, with Louisville and Clemson being the toughest teams. They do have a regular season date with the Notre Dame Fighting, which will likely be the hardest game on their schedule. With the expanded College Football Playoff, the Seminoles shouldn’t have an issue being one of the final 12 teams.

Can Florida State have another undefeated season in 2024? Nothing is guaranteed in college football but they look primed for a lot of winning moving forward.
