The New York Giants made another coaching change ahead of the 2024 season. The Giants made a few big changes to the staff after a dismal 2023 season. The biggest change was at defensive coordinator as Don Martindale left to take the same title at Michigan. The Giants hired Shane Bowens to replace Martindale.
The Giants made some changes on offense too. Carmen Bricillo was hired as the Giants offensive line coach. He will have a new helper for the upcoming season. According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Giants hired former New England Patriots offensive lineman James Ferentz as their assistant OL coach under Bricillo.

The Houston Texans signed Ferentz as an undrafted free agent from Iowa following the 2014 NFL Draft. He spent time with the Denver Broncos before playing with the Patriots from 2017 to 2023.
Ferentz will try to help turn around a unit that was one of the worst in the NFL last season. Per Pro Football Focus, the Giants ranked 32nd in pass blocking and 30th in run blocking. The Giants need a better offensive line for 2024, regardless of if they take a rookie quarterback in the draft or stay with Daniel Jones.
